  •       I ran across some interesting info today and thought I would pass it on.  I'm not into the whole idea of fear-mongering but as Christians we need to wake up and remember our most effective and under rated weapon...PRAYER along with humility before God.  I believe darkness is having a hay-day because the light has gotten dim...we as Christians are to be the light of the world so that is where humility needs to produce repentance in our lives.  Let's cry out out together as an army FOR One!  For our nation and for the continuance of the Gospel!  I have included an email from a dear brother....

Dear Friends and Bro & Sis in Christ,

After reading the email below, our church has decided to have a day of prayer & fasting for our President, our Nation and most of all for the American church on Fri Sept 25. 2009. The nation is in the shape it is in because the church has lost its light. It is no longer salty - Matthew 5:13-16

We invite you to join us in fasting & prayer and to forward this email out to as many of your Christian friends as possible and encourage them to do the same. We just found out about this and so we only have a day to rally the troops!

    Sincerely,
    Phil M Petre

    INTERESTING INFORMATION . . .

In June 2007, Presidential candidate Barack Obama declares the USA no longer a Christian nation.

In 1952 President Truman established one day a year as a National Day of Prayer. In 1988, President Reagan designated the first Thursday in May of each year as the National Day of Prayer. This year however, President Obama, decided to cancel the ceremony at the White House not wanting to offend anyone.

On September 25, 2009 from 4am until 7pm, a National Day of Prayer for the Muslim religion will be held on Capitol Hill, beside the White House. As a Christian, it makes me really wonder where the REAL direction of this country is headed. Whether you didn't vote for the man or you did, as Christians I would surely hope that this would stir your spirit. They are expecting over 50,000 muslims that day in DC. However if you want to pray to God in public you can't because, well, it may offend someone. Me personally, I'll continue to pray & worship God wherever & whenever.

The website (yes folks, there is a very informative website) is:

                       http://www.islamoncapitolhill.com/

Pay particular attention to the very bottom of the web page: "OUR TIME HAS COME"

Could it be that the REAL agenda of the President is becoming more plain?  The evidence is there. It's your decision.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." becomes more important each day. Perhaps all the things going on now in this country and around the world could be solved if we would heed this scripture. Question is, will our government allow us?

If you feel that this is an important issue, please feel free to make your friends and family aware.

NO PRESSURE!  But if God lays it on your heart to join in, do so!  God's blessings to you!

  • Unexpected blessings...

Ever wonder how God arranges an unexpected meeting between two people?  I wonder how difficult it would be to carefully orchestrate the individual pathways of  two different lives so that they will merge at just the precise moment.  Ever think about it??

Saturday night i had one of those moments... I was sitting in Lancaster, PA at Outback Steakhouse with several friends.  The hostess seated us and then for some reason we suddenly decided we would rather all squeeze into a booth and so we walked across to the other side of the restaurant and sat down.  We were barely seated when a young woman walked up to our table.  She was not our server but she was serving on that side of the restaurant.  She looked right at me and said, "You saved my life!"  I was a little astonished to say the least!  She went on, "I remember you!  You and your husband came into the Lancaster County Jail three years ago and you shared your story and how to be free.  It saved my life!"  I held out my hand and took hers... asked her how she was doing and if i could send her a cd to bless her and all the time I felt my heart just melting and a wonder creeping over me.  How did God DO that???

WHAT ARE THE ODDS????  Her life and mine... totally different lifestyles, totally different pursuits, totally different pathways of life... How did He do it?? She had always wanted to thank me and God knew I needed that encouragement.  So he did it!  I am amazed!  and that is but a fraction of what He does on a daily basis in my life!  Why do I not trust such a God implicitly??  Why would I EVER question Him??  WHY????

HE is amazing!  And i am completely in love with Him!  He has ordered my steps from the beginning... and i will trust Him.

  • Really, REALLY tired!

Ahhh!  The morning after you get home from conference.... tired and enemy attacks seem par for the course.  i was thinking this morning as I was reading a "ur so wicked" note sent to someone else to hand to me... as hard as it may be for folks to believe, it really isnt that hard for us to believe that we make mistakes and it isn't even that hard for us to believe that we may not see some things as clearly as we should but wow!  Try living your life in the public eye and reaping the judgements of people who scarcely know you but are sure that they know the intimate motivations of your heart!  Steve and I have said for years that we can either teach our children to pretend really good and have everything look good on the surface or we can be real and allow our children to be real and to make honest mistakes and learn from them.  We have chosen the latter and I don't regret it because it's right but I must admit that sometimes when I'm tired and worn out from ministering that it's easy to get a little angry at the people who from their spiritual lounge chairs shout out their observations from the sidelines in the midst of the game.  Maybe just maybe if they got up and got in the game of LIFE it wud change their perspective a little!  :)

Ok, so i've vented now... I will be alright.

Conference was awesome last week!  Loved every minute of it!  Thanks to all of you who helped make it possible!  I just thrive on seeing lives change and people get connected with Abba Father God!  Could go on and on but I need to clean my house!  :)  Just wanted to connect with those of you who were praying and say THANKYOU!!!  your prayers were answered!  God is sooo good!

  • Our life on the road...

Hey Everybody!  I am way tired after last night's prison service!  Only Steve, Tanisha and i could get in cuz the others aren't 18 yet.  For awhile I wasn't sure I was gonna get in.  Now I kinda pride myself in knowing exactly how many hairpins and inner and outer garments :) etc, that I can wear without setting off the metal detector.  After all we have done this more than a few times, right?  Well last night I actually ended up taking my hair down in a vain effort to not set that nasty alarm off but no such luck!  Evidently they didn't have a wand up at the first check station and control said if I couldn't pass the first check I couldn't go past to the next check where they had a wand... go figure.  Being the determined person I am I set out on a mission to get thru that fuggly thing without it squawking at me.  I shall spare u all the details but suffice it to say that yes, I did take my hair down and yes, I went out to the bus and removed certain items!  :)  And I TRIUMPHED!  Aww sweet victory! it still makes me smile!  :)

Steve had to get up and go at 5:30 this morning and I was so glad to stay in bed!  He had 2 seminars to teach in prison today and then he will come and get Tanisha and I to do another service this evening again.  Sunday afternoon we have another service and then we are done.  It is quite different singing with just three of us... it makes me realize how spoiled we are singing with each of us bringing different talents to the table (or should i say stage?) and if even one of us isn't there it leaves a big hole in our program!  But we made it even if Tanisha was sure she was front and center the whole time!  :)

We are so excited about being home for four whole weeks when we leave here.  Maybe we can finally get a bunch of stuff finished on our house!  That would be be amazing!  I am so ready to have all my children sleeping in the house!  I also want to work outside on the place.  So we will see what we can get done.

Please, please pray for us if we cross your mind!  We are in a tough place right now... we have till Oct. to make up our mind and hear from God what direction He wants us to take next.  We need to decide whether God wants Steve to go back and start a business or if He wants us to take a giant leap of faith and go out on our own... It looks really big... I've shed a lot of tears.  I know for myself I just want to know what God wants... just not real clear to me yet... all the options look like the red sea would have to part.  So I cling to that.  I wanna be ready to walk thru when those waters part and until then I am trying to rest in the peace of God in the midst of the storm.  So pray for us.  Everything is up in the air... job, should we relocate?, etc...

We really enjoyed the auction weekend in PA!  So great to see so many of our friends!  And did i mention a massage and foot treatment??!!  Awww talk about bliss!!  :)  I felt absolutely pampered and loved!  And garage sales!  :)  An answered prayer when i found enough winter clothes for Karina for when we go up to Canada this fall.  I actually found a beautiful winter coat and matching snow pants for her for $1!  I was happy!  :)

Also we LOVED our weekend with the Bethel crowd!  Sunday eve was wonderful and then Monday eve with the youth was amazing!  Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your lives!  Our lives were deeply impacted by the passion for God we saw in all your lives.  Thanks Chet and Lena for the Bed and Breakfast while our bus was being fixed!  And to all you youth... keep the fire, okay?!  Love you all!

         Peace and Love to all!

    Hello Love

Hey it really is me again!  We just got home Monday night from 3 weeks on Easter Tour with the Gospel Express teams.  Most of us either were sick, are sick, or are getting sick as we "speak".  It is one nasty flu/cold bug!  I had trouble with my vocal capabilities the whole tour.  Let me just say for the record... "I AM SICK OF GARGLING WITH GOLDEN SEAL!!!!)  It is NASTY let me tell you.  Every night just before service I could be found hunched over the sink gagging on the horrid stuff.  Unfortunately it works well, for about 2 hours that is, or I wud NEVER go back for more.  :)  ok, enough of such memories.

The girls left this morning for Iowa to go to a friend's wedding at our church.  They had planned to drive but we got a call yesterday afternoon from the garage where we were getting their car tuned up and they told us no way can the girls take the car.  Something about the tie rods being bad.  So i rushed home from where all the GEET teams and us were eating before our last Easter service here in NC and managed to find some extremely reasonable tickets for the girls to fly.  I admit I was kinda releaved they weren't gonna be driving all night to get to iowa.  I'm also really glad they could go.  They miss Iowa so badly!  The move has been a little hard on all of us.

Anyhoo, it's just me and Steve and the boys here today.  Karina went home last night with her best friend Ranessa Yoder and now Jevan is sick so the house is unbelievably quiet and not getting dirty.  It truely is a modern day miracle!  :)  But what am I to do???  I have no extra money so I can't go shopping,  my husband is passed out on the couch cuz he took the girl's to the airport, Jalon, bless his heart, decided to do an extra day's school work, and Jevan is sleeping.  So I can't pound away on anything or laugh loudly or break dance or... ok, yea.

Oh!  I think I will go wash windows... no wait.  The little squeeking noice that makes?  Well, it makes my husband's hair stand on end if he is trying to sleep... trust me, I've tried it.  it's not pretty! :)  ARGGG!!!

I just set up a facebook account this morning.  I felt like such a traitor!  :(  My son just read this and said "Mom, ur too old to be on Facebook"...   Can u believe it??!! I for one was simply horrified!

That settles it!  I am gonna go find something to do to keep me young and happy!  See ya!
